Your Search Defaults settings allow you to change the way your users interact with your search pages.
To access your Search Default settings, log into your iHOUSEweb admin menu, click Settings, then click Search Defaults.
Default Listing Type
Set the default listing type users are automatically directed to when they use your search forms. Note that listing types are associated with particular property types. By changing the listing type your options for property types will change as well.
Choose from any of the following default listing types. Depending on which listing type you choose, you will have different options available to restrict your default property types.

By default, listings that are pending a sale will show a "Under Contract" badge. Instead, you can define pending as ANY listing "Under Contract". Listings flagged as "Under Contract" will appear in searches that only include pending listings, and will keep a pending badge. Additionally, we've also included a badge for any listing we can identify as taking backup offers.
Default Listing Sort Order
Choose sort order your search results are displayed by. We recommend that you sort listings newest to oldest, but you can choose from any of the following sort options:
- Days on site
- Bedrooms
- Acreage
- Price
- Sq. Ft.
- Sold Date
- Sold Price

Default Map Settings
Choose the style of map between a Roadmap or a Satellite view
When a visitor enters a search, the map will automatically center and zoom in on the results. If the center point and zoom are unknown based on the search, adjust this maps position and zoom level to set the default map position for those cases.

Recommended Location Options
Enter any relevant areas that you would like to appear first when visitors start typing in a search for a location.
Market Report Options
- Use simple zips rather than zip, city combos for Market Reports.
When enabled, search for an address with no neighborhood location associated with the address will instead go to a pure zip code report rather than a report with a zip code and a city for that address. The "Nearby Markets" section on the report pages will similarly show only zip code comparisons. This setting applies for market reports on listing detail pages as well.
Note: Enabling this setting is NOT recommended for most users. Keeping the zip/city combo allows for richer comparisons on the report page. It should be used if you have concerns about zip code and city overlaps that don't seem to correlate to a correct address.
Price Options
- Start price options at $1 million (and $3k/mo.)
When you're done, click Save Settings.
