Step-by-Step Guide: Privacy Policy, Accessibility, and Spam Settings under Website Admin


Welcome! This guide will walk you through configuring the Privacy Policy, Accessibility, and Spam Settings found in your Website Admin Settings. These settings allow you to customize your website’s policies, enhance accessibility, and manage spam effectively.

Under Website Admin you’ll see Privacy PolicyAccessibility, and Spam Settings each as their own section found in the side menu, similar to the other sections under Settings. Clicking Privacy PolicyAccessibility, or Spam Settings will take you to that respective section to adjust its settings as desired.

Privacy Policy


On this page you can customize your privacy policy page.

  • Privacy Policy Settings

    • Use existing application default text

      • You can opt to use the Existing Application Default Text. This pre-set text provides a convenient option if you don’t want to create your own policy.

    • Write your own using a simple text field

      • If you prefer to write a custom policy, select the Write Your Own option. This will open a simple text field, where you can enter your custom Privacy Policy text.

Once you’ve made your desired adjustments, click Save Settings.

Accessibility Settings


These features are offered as a convenience with the intent of enhancing the accessibility of your website. 
The Accessibility Menu includes: 

  • Buttons to toggle alternative modes of your website that address certain accessibility issues

  • A simple Accessibility Statement of your intent to provide an accessible website, and asking users to contact you with any concerns.

  • An Accessibility Feedback form.

Show the Accessibility Icon (used to open the accessibility menu)

  • This option displays an Accessibility Icon on your website. The icon moves alongside you as you scroll and provides quick access to the Accessibility Menu.

Show the Accessibility Footer Link (also used to open the accessibility menu)

  • This option places a link labeled ‘Accessibility’ to the Accessibility Menu in the footer of your website.

Once you’ve made your desired adjustments, click Save Settings.



Spam Control Settings


Spam Settings protect your website from unwanted or harmful submissions. 

Use iHouseweb Spam Protection Service will enable or disable the selected settings below it. 

  • Exclude messages with emails that match known SPAM patterns such as .ru, example.com, etc

  • Exclude messages with international phone numbers from outside the US such as those with 11 digits or that do not start with “1” (the country code for the US).

  • Exclude messages that contain embedded links or URLs Mitigates the submission of possibly harmful links or URLs.

  • Exclude messages that contain Whatsapp in text will exclude the submission of messages that contain Whatsapp in text when enabled, this can be helpful If a pattern of problematic Whatsapp messages are being received.

Once you’ve made your desired adjustments, click Save Settings.
