Step-by-Step Tutorial: Changing Your Website Template
Your website Template is the set of web pages that give you a baseline for your website design. After selecting a template, you fill in the details and changes that make your website a unique user experience for your visitors.
Changing your website's template can transform its appearance and functionality, giving it a fresh look and ensuring it aligns with your branding needs. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of updating your site using the iHouse Elite platform.
Step 1: Access the Admin Menu
- From the homepage of your website navigate to the bottom and click ‘Admin Menu’ found in the footer.
- Log in with your Admin credentials
Step 2: Enter Edit Mode
- From the admin menu, select “Edit Your Website.”
- In the top left corner of the editing mode, click on “Template.”
Step 3: Explore the Template Section
- Here, you’ll find a variety of pre-composed templates available for selection.
- Your template choice will primarily impact your homepage but may affect other parts of your website.
Step 4: Choose a Template
- To change templates, simply click “Choose” on your desired template.
- Note that Color and Branding can be changed after selection so focus more on the composition of content rather than just color and branding
Step 5: Navigate by Color and Branding
- Templates can be filtered by color and preferred company branding to provide a solid foundation or starting point if desired.
- This is different from Template Series, which is a way of describing the set or “series” of templates which will have compatible layout or format.
Step 6: Understand Template Series
- At the top of the screen, you’ll see which template you’re currently using.
- The name of the template series and its color will be displayed.
- Switching between different series can alter the arrangement of widgets and the composition of your homepage.
Step 7: Make Informed Choices
- For example, moving within the Prosperity Pro series, from Sapphire to another color variant of Prosperity Pro won’t change your widget layout—only the color.
- However, switching from ‘Prosperity Pro’ Sapphire to ‘Prosperity’ Sapphire, a different series, will change your widget layout and site composition.
Step 8: Revert Changes if Needed
- Make note of the Template / Template Series you’re using before switching. If you switch to a different template series and wish to revert, selecting the previous Template Series will return you to its composition
- This allows you to maintain your original composition while exploring new templates.
Changing your website's template is a straightforward process that can significantly enhance its appearance and usability. Remember, you can always revert back to a previous template series if needed.
