Step-by-Step Tutorial: Visitor Registration in Website Admin Settings
Welcome! This tutorial will guide you through the Website Admin Settings for Visitor Registration. Visitor Registration settings will adjust how and when visitors to your website are prompted to register. This can be based on actions taken and on a per section basis. This registration prompt can be set as required or optional allowing them to close it. The information collected can be customized if desired as well.
Under Website Admin you’ll find Settings in the side menu, clicking settings will expand to show Visitor Registration. Click Visitor Registration.
1. Conversion Optimization
’Auto-optimize my settings for lead generation’ is turned on by default.
This feature automatically uses the most effective settings for generating quality leads.
When disabled, the individual options become available.
2. Default Registration Form
This will be the default form used throughout unless changed for specific actions
‘Do not require a password for registration’ allows users to register with just an email
Registration form type
‘Use a simple registration form’ is our recommended default using best practices
‘Use a custom registration form’ can be selected if very specific customization is needed
Note: The Eye icon to the side can be pressed to preview what this will look like.
Select the info you’d like to collect for registration, and if it is required or optional.
Include name on simple form
And if it’s required
Include phone number on simple form
And if its required
Use Captcha on the simple registration form before submitting to reduce spam.
‘Customize the header for the registration call to action panel’ lets you set a Title for the form.
‘Customize the text for the registration call to action panel’ to provide further details or direction.
This will be your site wide default text, and should appeal to both buyers and sellers
Please keep your message brief (2 to 5 sentences max) so it helps lead conversion instead of detracting from your registration form. This is especially important for mobile.
‘Click here to add placeholder text’ can be pressed to place the background example text as an editable starting point for your writing if desired.
That concludes the options for the Default Registration Form
After the Default Registration Form you’ll see other specific Action Cases where you can set the Registration form as
Teaser Registration, allowing a certain number of views of the content before prompting registration
Always Require Registration where none of that content can be viewed until registered.
Don’t Prompt Registration where all of that content can be viewed, no registration form will display.
The Action Cases where these options are iterated below are:
3. Listing Search Registration Settings which will appear when Searching for Listings
4. Blog Registration Settings which will appear when Viewing Blog Posts
5. Market Report Registration Settings which will appear when Viewing Market Reports
6. On Page Load Registration Settings which will appear on page load immediately
7. Exit Intent Registration Settings which will appear when the cursor moves towards closing the website
8. Time on Page Registration Settings which will appear after a set amount of time
That concludes the different specific Action Cases
Next is Registration Follow Up Form
9. Registration Follow Up Form can be used to collect optional secondary information after initial registration
‘Use registration followup form’ will determine if a Registration Follow Up Form is presented.
Enabling this setting will show what info will be presented on the Registration Follow Up Form.
Existing inputs can be edited with Edit and Rearranged by dragging.
‘Add a new input’ can be pressed at the bottom to create a new input if desired.
10. Default Marketing Opt-In Settings can be included on forms if needed.
‘Enable marketing opt-in fields by default’ will include a marketing opt-in checkbox on standard forms
Custom forms, including your custom registration form have the option to override this default by not including a marketing opt-in field.
‘Include a privacy policy link with marketing opt-in checkbox’ will include a link to your privacy policy page directly attached to the marketing opt-in checkbox
Custom forms that include a marketing opt-in field will follow this site wide setting.
11. GDPR Compliance will enable tools and features that will make your website compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation if required.
If you work with clients who live in the European Union this option improves your users' confidence in the privacy and security of your website, but it may also reduce lead capture and retention due to the complexity it adds to user registration and management.
While uncommon, if the need to enable GDPR compliance is required the option to do so can be found here.
Once you’ve configured all options as desired, click "Save Settings".
