Support Multiple Languages with Google Translate - Medium
Once you've gotten your Elite website up and running, you might be wondering how you're going to reach someone if they don't speak English. Luckily, with Google Translate, you can make your website instantly available in over 80 languages, and it only takes less than a minute to set up.
Step 1: Click this link to start translating your website!
Step 2: Enter the URL of your Elite website.
Step 3: Here, you have several options.
- You can choose to let users translate into any language, or just the ones you pick.
- You can choose how you want the translation widget to work
- You can tweak some advanced things, and there's a place to check if your website contains content in multiple languages.
Step 4: Now here, Google gives you some code to put into your website to get the translation widget working. Copy the upper, small box of code and go to your Elite Admin Menu.
Paste your code into the Extra Code for the Head section. If there's already code there for some other reason, just place Google's code at the bottom and don't mess with the other code. Click Save Settings to finish this step.
For more information on how to manage widgets, see Editing your Homepage.
From here you can name the widget something relevant like "Google Translate" (if you wish). To actually create the translation widget, first delete the default "Add your content here!" text. Then, click the Source button on the upper right side of the editor. Now, copy that code from Google and paste it here. Remember to only paste that second box of code here!
