Your File Manager provides unlimited storage for your website assets, including images and other files. When you upload a file to your File Manager, the file is assigned a unique URL that you can link to or embed on your website.
To access your File Manager, log into your iHOUSEweb admin menu, and click Files. Your File Manager will be launched in a new tab.
On the right side of the screen, you’ll see the Info pane, which can be toggled on or off with the Info button in the top right corner of the screen. The info pane in the top right will show you a preview of the file, as well as a link to the file that you can use to share it.
When you have a file selected, at the bottom of the screen you’ll see an Action bar. This will allow you to easily delete, rename, move, or copy your files.
Uploading Files
To upload a file to your file manager, go to the Files page of your Admin Menu. At the top of the page, you'll see a green Upload button.
Select the file from your computer and click “Upload file”. You will be notified when the file has successfully been uploaded and the file will now appear in the file manager. Alternatively, you can just drag and drop the file from your computer to the file manager window, and it will start the upload process.
Selecting Files
You can click on a file to select it, or click and drag to select multiple. Additionally, you can hold down the Ctrl key (the Cmd key on Macs) and click files to add them to the selection.
Linking to Files
Linking to files can allow visitors to access them. For example, you can upload a PDF file with information that you want your customers to download. To link to a file on your website, first select the file you wish to work with. You will see a URL appear in the Info pane. Copy this URL.
Go to the content editor for the page you wish to edit. Use the content editor’s link feature to create a link using the file’s URL. You can also send this link to people via email and they will be able to access the file.
Using Folders
Your File Manager allows you to organize your files into folders, just like you can on your computer. To make a folder, click New Folder (next to the Upload button). Next, name your folder. You can move or copy files to the folder using the action buttons at the bottom of the screen when you have files selected.
Adding Images to Pages and Widgets
The File Manager links to the content editor’s file uploading system. This means that if you upload an image file to your File Manager, it will be in the File Library of the content editor and vice versa. This allows you to easily add images to your website. Other file types, such as PDFs, Word documents, etc. will not show in your content editor’s File Library since they cannot be added in the same way as images.
To add an image that is in your File Manager, go to the content editor for the page you are editing. Click the Image button, select the file from the list, and click OK. Make sure you click the “Save this page” button when done editing.
